Put in your orders and your average order. Every system on our New Zealand rankings is priced on the plan and fees it publishes, with the working shown, so you can see what it would cost you before you call a sales team.
Prices read from each vendor's own website, 12 Oct 2026 to 12 Oct 2026. 2026 prices. How we score
$30,000 a month through the system. Example figures: change them to yours, priced on the 10 best POS systems for New Zealand hospitality. 0 of 10 publish enough to give a full total.
A month is the cheapest published plan plus the published card rate on your orders. A plan priced per device or per site is multiplied by the boxes above; a plan with no unit stated is counted once per site. Hardware, GST where a price excludes it and any charge a vendor does not publish are left out.
How the total is worked out
The plan: each vendor's cheapest published plan, times your devices when it is priced per device, or your sites when it is priced per site.
POS and kiosks: the published in-person card rate on every order, plus any fixed fee per payment.
Online ordering, pre-orders, order and pay, pay at table: the published commission plus the online card rate, or the in-person rate when no online rate is published.
Anything a vendor does not publish is never guessed: the row gives the part it can and names the part it cannot.
How much does a POS system cost a month in New Zealand?
5 of the 10 systems on our POS system ranking publish a plan price. The cheapest entry plan is Lazygrid, from $24/mo; the dearest entry plan is Next Order, from $169/mo, billed yearly.
What does each card payment cost?
None of the systems on our POS system ranking publishes its card rate.
What is in the monthly total?
The cheapest plan each vendor publishes, multiplied by your devices or sites when the plan is priced that way, plus the published card rate or commission on the orders you enter, including any fixed fee per payment.
What is left out of the total?
Hardware, which is usually a one-off cost; GST where a price excludes it; setup fees; and any charge a vendor does not publish. A row that is missing a part says which part.
Which plan does the calculator use?
Each vendor's cheapest published plan. A bigger plan may lower the card rate or add features, so open the vendor's page to compare its plans.
How are plans priced per device or per site counted?
A plan priced per device, till or terminal is multiplied by the devices box; one priced per location or site by the sites box. A plan with no unit stated is counted once per site.
Why does a system show "not published"?
Its own pricing or terms page did not state that part when we read it. Hover the cell or open the working to see which page was read and when.
Why is the cheapest system not always ranked first?
The ranking also scores how much of its pricing a vendor publishes and how easy its contract is to leave. A cheap system on a long contract can cost more to get out of than it saves.
Can I save or share my figures?
Yes. The page address keeps your figures as you type, and the copy link button copies it.
How up to date are these prices?
The figures on this page were read from the vendors' own websites between 12 Oct 2026 and 12 Oct 2026. Each one shows its date when you hover it, and the sources at the foot of the page list every page and date.
