Is your restaurant website losing orders?
Type your restaurant's name or paste its website. In about ten seconds you will see whether guests can order without a marketplace, whether AI assistants like ChatGPT can read your menu, and the one fix worth making first.
Example report, not a real restaurant
Fix this firstA guide file for AI assistants (llms.txt)
- 1
Type your restaurant
Its name and town, or paste the website. Nothing to sign up for.
- 2
We read your pages
The home page and the ordering page, the way a guest, Google and an AI assistant see them.

A grade out of 100, what each check found, and the change worth making first.
What the check looks at
16 checks in three groups, each worth the points shown. A check we cannot see is left out of the score, never failed. It recognises 46 ordering and POS systems from our rankings by the links and scripts they leave on a page.
Ordering
27 pointsGuests can order without a marketplace12
Orders through your own ordering page pay no marketplace commission and keep the guest as your customer.
An order button on the page6
A guest who came to order should find the button without scrolling.
The menu is a web page, not a PDF or a photo5
A menu as text can be read on a phone, found in search and quoted by AI assistants. A PDF can do none of that well.
A phone number guests can tap4
A tel: link turns the number into a call button on a phone.
AI assistants
30 pointsA guide file for AI assistants (llms.txt)5
llms.txt tells an AI assistant, in plain text, what you sell and where to order.
The full menu in one file for AI assistants (llms-full.txt)5
llms-full.txt gives an assistant the whole menu with prices in one read.
AI assistants can order through your ordering page (MCP)5
An MCP server lets an assistant read the live menu and build an order through tools, not by scraping.
Shopping agents can find your ordering tools (UCP)5
A UCP profile tells shopping agents where the ordering tools are and what they can do.
The words are in the page, not added later by script5
ChatGPT's and Claude's crawlers read the HTML a server sends and do not run its scripts, so a page that builds itself with JavaScript reads to them as blank.
robots.txt lets AI agents in5
robots.txt decides which AI agents may read the page at all.
Website basics
23 pointsSecure connection (https)4
Browsers mark http pages as not secure, and guests leave.
Set up for phones4
Most restaurant searches happen on a phone.
A page title3
The title is the blue line people click in search results.
A search description3
One line that says what you serve and where.
Restaurant details search engines can read5
Structured data hands search engines and assistants your name, address, hours and menu without guessing.
The page answers quickly4
A slow first answer loses guests on mobile data before anything shows.
Standards behind the AI checks: llms.txt proposal, Model Context Protocol, Universal Commerce Protocol, Vercel's study of AI crawlers (Dec 2024).
Questions about the website check
What does the website check look at?
16 things in three groups. Ordering (4 checks): whether guests can order without a marketplace, whether there is an order button, whether the menu is a web page and whether the phone number can be tapped. AI assistants (6 checks): whether the page's words are in its HTML, and the five files and endpoints assistants use to read a menu and place an order. Website basics (6 checks): https, phone layout, title, description, structured data and how fast the page answers.
How is the score worked out?
Each check carries points: 27 for ordering, 30 for AI assistants and 23 for website basics. The score is the share of points passed out of 100. A check we could not see is left out of the sum rather than failed. A is 85 or more, B 70, C 55, D 40, and anything lower is F.
Why do AI assistants matter for a restaurant?
Guests can ask ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants where to eat and what to order. An assistant can only recommend and order from what it can read. Vercel's study of AI crawler traffic (December 2024) found that ChatGPT's and Claude's crawlers do not run JavaScript, so a page that builds itself with script reads to them as blank.
What is llms.txt?
A plain text file at the root of a website that tells an AI assistant what the site is and where things are. It was proposed by Jeremy Howard on 3 September 2024 and is documented at llmstxt.org. llms-full.txt is the longer version, with the whole content in one file.
What is an MCP server?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open-source standard for connecting AI applications to outside systems (modelcontextprotocol.io). A restaurant ordering page with an MCP server lets an assistant read the live menu and build an order through tools, instead of guessing from the page.
What is a UCP profile?
UCP, the Universal Commerce Protocol (ucp.dev), describes itself as a common language for platforms, agents and businesses. A UCP profile at /.well-known/ucp tells a shopping agent where a business's ordering tools are. When we read ucp.dev on 12 October 2026 it said a food specification was coming soon.
Why does it say "could not tell" for some checks?
Some home pages arrive as an empty shell and draw everything with JavaScript after they load. Their buttons and phone numbers are not in the HTML we read, so we mark those checks unknown and leave them out of the score. The shell is itself a finding, because AI crawlers read the same empty HTML.
Which ordering systems can it recognise?
It names a system only from a link or script on the page that goes to that system's own website, and shows the link. It recognises 46 ordering and POS systems from our rankings and the main delivery marketplaces. An ordering site it does not recognise is still counted as direct ordering, named by its address.
Why are the AI checks run on my ordering page, not my home page?
Because that is where an order happens. When your home page links to an ordering page, the five AI checks read that page, which is run by your ordering system. A low result there is set by the system's setup, not by your website builder.
Does the check change anything on my website?
No. It reads the same public pages a guest would, plus robots.txt, llms.txt, llms-full.txt and /.well-known/ucp, and tries to open an MCP connection without placing an order. It takes a few seconds and around a dozen requests.
Can I share a report?
Yes. The report address carries the website, so a copied link opens the report for anyone, checked again when it opens. A result may be reused for up to ten minutes, so a link opened by a whole team does not re-read the site each time. We do not publish a list of the sites checked.
Is the check run by a POS or ordering vendor?
No. No vendor pays for a result here, and a system on the report keeps the place it earned on our rankings from its published prices and terms. Some links to vendor websites may earn us a referral fee; the disclosure page lists which.
